A Taste of Ireland: Landscape, Culture, Food

This is a super book that manages to combine lovely photographs with some really interesting and informative text, which covers the best and least known sites of interest, some of Ireland's tremendous ancient history, her culture and her landscape. It was a real pleasure to write this book since I am half Irish and have consquently always spent a great deal of time there. It is a country I hold particularly dear, and has a character that is unrivalled by anywhere else in the world. Some of her festivals, which are discussed in the book, are of special interest, and definitely worth a visit. This is a book that will appeal to anyone who loves Ireland, or indeed, travel in general.

The Secrets of Tuscany

Having lived in Italy for some time, and fallen in love with the country, the people and the food, it was with great enthusiasm that I embarked on this book. The book is full of fantastic photographs and covers many of the lesser known beauty spots and sites of historic interest. This is a book to inspire anyone wishing to visit Tuscany, and one that will bring back beautiful memories to any seasoned travellers.

The Secrets of Britain

I have travelled widely across Britain, and through a substantial amount of the rest of the world, and on every trip I think to myself that I must do another book. Inevitably I run out of time and the best plans get set aside, however this book did give me the chance to share some of the lesser known sites and beauty spots of Britain, many of which are simply spectacular.

1001 Historic Sites You Must See Before You Die

This is another of the '1001' series of books, which I contributed towards. It is a fantastic volume and very comprehensive in the scope of sites discussed. I was able to write about many of the fascinating sites I visited in the US during my ten years there, as well as some other notable locations from my travels around the world. This book is an invaluable addition to any travel enthusiast, or historian's library.
